I would have been happier to stop by the school office and pick up my diploma but I had to attend the event “for my parents.” Ironically, I found myself years later at both of my kids’ ceremonies “for my kids.”
GAWD, I wish more people really understood this. I’m SO tired of my 70s+ buddies complaining about how ignorant today’s 17 year olds are, as if they themselves knew everything at 17. . .and some of those 70s+ buddies don’t know much more than when they were 17.
