“What happens to a dream deferred? Does it dry up like a raisin in the sun? Or fester like a sore – and then run? Does it stink like rotten meat? Or crust and sugar over – like a syrupy sweet? Maybe it just sags like a heavy load. Or does it explode? “Harlem” by Langston Hughes
On field work once in Cold Lake, AB my colleague and I worked in the repair hanger where CF-18’s were maintained. We got to sit in the fighter jet for a photo op. Talk about tight quarters. It was explained to us that in case of ejection, a mechanism tucked the pilot’s feet under the seat in order that the knee caps clear the instrument panel on the way out… eek!

The Air Force Academy would have told this kid whether he was tall enough for flight or not. As to the Olympics…kid, you’re on your own.

Put another way: If everybody’s dream came true, do you know just how long it would take to watch the Olympics?

If everyone got their wish how many of them would clash? How wrecked would the world be?
