I saw a 17 year old guy on the Dr. Phil show the other day, who got an allowance of $1,000/month. The only thing he did to “earn” that was to make his bed; he wanted to be paid extra for doing chores like taking out the trash or doing the dishes. He didn’t have a job, and didn’t want to get one, but was going to become rich by going viral on Youtube. His mother, on the other hand, worked 120 hours / week to be able to put food on the table, pay the rent and pay his allowance. He had asked Dr. Phil to convince his mother that he needed his allowance raised to $1,500/month. I wonder if he’s related to Tiffany.
I feel so sorry for Luann and Bernice. Almost not having money to buy things, but having many desires (and classmates who spent a lot, especially for stupid shoes) is one of my base memories of what adolescence was.
This is nothing. In my 20s (1978), I worked at a ladies shoe store in Beverly Hills on Rodeo Drive. The minimum for a pair of strapy pumps and a hand bag was $500. It went up from there. A $3000 sale was not uncommon. No, we didn’t get a commission.
This is really sad. I know the feeling of not have any money while being at the mall. Also, screw Tiffany and her friend, Amber (I decided to call her that).

Tiff Maxing out her dad’s $7,000 limit on his credit card?!!?
Jeeze! Maybe Ann Eiffel was right. Tiff might have been at the root of her dad’s “money problem.”
But don’t worry, Lu.
One day Tiffany will be selling ALL that stuff on eBay just to make ends meet! :)

After reading a strip like this I find the only way to feel better is to go watch a few “abandoned mall” videos on YouTube.
