    So he was doing it on purpose.*I confess, Charlie Brown’s comment in the first panel confuses me. Anyone else get it?

    Amazing, how several letters’ names are homophones, of words, which you can tell was supposed to be the punchline of this strip. And YES, ten to one Linus WAS doing this on purpose, just to tease Sally,and get on her nerves. You can tell—for example, instead of “Why?” he could have either asked “How come?” or even “Why are you practicing your Y’s?” But then,again, that was the punchline of this cartoon, of course.

    It would have been funnier if Linus was deliberately messing with her, like she’d mess with Big Brother when she’s practicing her penmanship or writing out a report.
