Makes me wonder if this C&H strip inspired Matt Groening to come up with the “Angry Dad” episode in “The Simpsons.”

Dad’s expression in Panel 3 is my favorite part of this strip.

I guess Calvin’s given up on trying to be good enough for Christmas.

Unfortunately, newspapers are closing because of lack of readership. But fortunately, this newspaper is going to set a record.

In today’s world it would be on the internet, go viral and T-shirts would be made, then the book on Calvin’s life hits Amazon and finally a movie with it all being cancelled because Dad would tell the truth to the world about Calvin in an interview.

I once saw a photo of a kid duct-taped to a wall. Some people took offense (even though it was a joke), some people thought it hilarious, but realistically speaking, one can see the benefits. I recommend industrial-strength tape so they can’t wiggle free… ;D

This is a special strip for me. I first discovered Calvin and Hobbes by reading it at my grandfather’s house, and then re-read the book every Christmas. This was my favorite strip in the book and I can remember just laughing and laughing at it.

Dopey Dad is honored to be the subject of a comic book.

This strip actually inspired me to start a comic of the same title when I was a kid (and unduly hostile to my dad). Fortunately, I lost interest after two episodes.
