When much younger I had a friend who got stuck with that nickname. He had a wry sense of humor and put the taunt down very quickly by telling the nope he only has two because he was legally blind in his left eye.
Four-eyes isn’t the taunt it used to be.. given most people now wear glasses.
I’m reviewing a novel for kids right now. A young female character asks a boy, “What is it with boys giving each other weird nicknames?”
And a good nickname for a seeing-eye dog would be “fore-eyes”, or maybe just “for-eyes”?
Not exactly a term of endearment.
How about birdbrain?
