When you know a lot of things, it can be hard to think of the right one quickly.

How did a 5-year-old learn the word metaphor? And I’m still worried about why his mom has been away so long and why his parents split up.

Alas, Nelson’s got the wrong word. It’s a simile if it’s “like” something. It’s only a metaphor if it is something.

That would be a simile, not a metaphor.

Earl how about a Balloon in the wind. Only going where the wind blows you ……

If you are “like” something, that is a simile, not a metaphor. A metaphor says “I am a rock.” Simile says “i am like a rock.”

A for effort, Earl…next time, though, you may want to be prepared for the “Why” question!

“ya gotta goal? Ya gotta have a goal. . .” (Pretty Woman) “Goals, goals, goals, I’m so sick of goals. . .” When I look back on it, my goal was not to starve and to get to retirement without losing my sanity. I got to retirement; the mind bit is iffy.

It’s so wonderful to spend time with grandparents! Memories will last a lifetime!

Metaphors are among the first to go.. a close second to hair.
