Aunty, you’re pointing at yourself like that is also your credo. That doesn’t fit, though, because you are arrogant, disagreeable, and often very hurtful. Did Ms. Streep email that to you as a farewell to thee?
I used to admire this woman’s talent and intelligence until she exposed her ignorance by attacking Walt Disney at the National Review dinner honoring Emma Thompson for her role as P. L. Travers, the author of Mary Poppins in the Disney bio “Saving MR. Banks.” She accused him of being an anti-semite (which was quickly and soundly denounced by Jews who knew and worked with Walt), racist (ditto), and a misogynist (he was a shy man who stayed faithful to his wife, loved his daughters and employed women in traditionally male roles). Why Disney still employed her and why she never apologized baffles me, but I cannot watch her perform in light of all this…
While I agree with the sentiment, I will point out that Meryl was arrogant for decades before she “…reached a point in …life”. Her 2003 standing ovation for Roman Polanski is an example and an indelible stain.

The older I get, the less tolerance I have for BS.

A few rounds of chemo on my record turned me into a lunatic. To say I have no patience for stupidity or stubbornness is an extreme understatement

I’ve actually become more tolerant in my advance age. But then I’ve built up an immunity to BS.

Sometimes I accept that which displeases or hurts me for the benefit of OTHERS. It makes the world a better place.

No, I don’t want to see that movie. Period. (Frozen, or anything like it)
