“Well, we both have beady eyes. We both have senseless conversations. We both have beepable littlel black noses. It goes on and on. Will you marry me?”
Fun fact; In 1478, George duke of Clarence was drowned, so legend has it, in a butt of Malmsey wine for plotting treason against his brother, Edward IV. A member of the Yorkist faction in the Wars of the Roses, George was the younger brother of Edward IV and elder brother of the future Richard III.
We eventually get the new piece all hammered out. It’s pretty sharp. I can already see it will catch and burn. There are other members who will need to catch up, Crank and Low Key but they can manage easily. They’ve probably got twelve years playing and three with Bob. Bob has to call it a night, because of his job. I’m no closer to catching a wave, so I ask about his new high. He explains it slow, like he knows I’m going to have a little trouble getting it. He’s right.
The place he works is doing research on synthetic brains. Organic brains that can be programmed with memories belonging to real people. The idea is to be able to duplicate a thinking person in a synthetic brain. Nothing hard about that. It’s standard stuff in SF for years. But the nits and grits are a couple class levels over my head.
Uh-huh. De gustibus non est disputandem and all that. Still, we do agree in principle. It’s just the application—or, as they say, “your mileage may vary.”
That said, anyone reading this here on Frog Applause probably has Good Taste, unless just obstinately contrarian….

That Pot Shots guy is a real card.
Pastis has become the unofficial Larson of the puns.
I like all the Larson clone comics, filling our Larson needs.
