Is it possible that will be a very isolated back road & they will be stuck on it in the middle of a blizzard or heavy snow storm, in the middle of nowhere?
I want to go back to yesterday’s strip. Everyone was so obsessed with the remote that no one mentioned the last panel and Howell’s classic OMG look, which I found had a hint of Charles Burns’ style.
With all that smoke from the cigarettes in the car and driving as the snow is falling, visibility is not to good!!! Yeah, an accident is bound to happen!!!
If you didn’t want her to be rescued, then maybe you could’ve killed her when you could. Geez, How’d you survive for so long in the crime business if you’re so dumb!
When I wrote my updated Green Hornet for a guest appearance on Alternate Alley Oop he would take farm- to-market roads when he is out of town. And back roads in town.
“…We’re all set.” Oh, yeah. Snow. Back roads. Old wagon. Hasty exit.
If the Howells ever make it to the ’safe house," Tracy will have a harder job tracking them down. If they go off the back road and are stranded in a wreck in a snowstorm, they may meet the fate they had planned for Frisk, and never be found (or at least not until after the six months of winter in fictive Chicagoland (November through April, roughly)….

Good morning™, station wagon fugitives!
See, I knew that Tracy’s town can be near the coast when it wants to be. I’m thinking Pacific Coast Highway for this little sequence.

Yeah they’re all set all right….all set to meet their doom I’m thinking.
I smell a crash into a ditch where they won’t be found until spring thaw…..

The mention of snow means that snow will have a big part in the upcoming saga. Many possibilities there!

A station wagon?! Is this an old strip or just a very old car?

Just look for them on the highway – they’re the one with the two bright red lights in the windshield.

DAN: You knew I had style and panache when you married me.
2-ROSIE: Well I guess we better take it on the lam. Pack the smokes and let’s git while the gittin’s good.
3-DAN: DAMMIT. You were supposed to gas up the car yesterday!
ROSIE: Yeah well you were supposed to always be my Prince Charming. Life’s full a disappointments ain’t it?
DAN: This won’t be one of ‘em if you can push us to the corner Gas & Grub. Get out and put your buns into it!

This story is turning very Gould-like with the snow.

Nothing remotely Gould-like in this story. Good to see Clair smoking the right end of the filtered cigarette though.

I can see them meeting up with one of the snowplow trucks as they travel the roads ( back roads and otherwise )…

Any bets this ends with the station wagon taking a dive off road after a chase?
