Charlie Brown stands outside of Lucy psychiatric booth. She leans on her elbow and says, "Maybe I can put it another way..."<BR><BR> She props her feet up and continues, "Life, Charlie Brown, is like a deck chair..." He asks, "Like a what?"<BR><BR> She replies, "Have you ever been on a cruise ship? Passengers open up these canvas deck chairs so they can sit in the sun..."<BR><BR> She points to her left and he looks. She says, "Some people place their chairs facing the rear of the ship so they can see where they've been..."<BR><BR> She points to her right and he looks. She continues, "Other people face their chairs forward...they want to see where they're going!"<BR><BR> She points to him and asks, "On the cruise ship of life, Charlie Brown, which way is your deck chair facing?"<BR><BR> She rolls her eyes as he replies, "I've never been able to get one unfolded..."<BR><BR>

Metaphors or expressions are lost on Charlie Brown, even when it comes to getting psychiatric help.

Not that it actually matters because no matter which way your deck chair is facing, you’ll see a lot of water. Is Lucy trying to say that life is boring?
