I have to wonder if this might be related to one of the incidents Adam has had involving my Nuclear Coffee

I never considered what sound effect would be fuel going into a tank, but you captured it perfectly, Rob!

I see that Adam lives in a state, unlike Massachusetts, where you can still set the lock on the fuel pump. How many of those are there?

Adam should have lived in Oregon. Here, he’d be sitting out of sight in his car while an attendant filled his tank and usually washed his windshield for the same price people pay for self-service elsewhere.

Most commenters here seem to think that “not having to pump your own gas” is a good thing! I don’t get that at all. I much prefer doing it myself (even in the rain!) and have always thought that doing it yourself was great, and a wonderful privilege. I don’t remember being able to do it before about 1973 or so, however (in California). I think that originally it meant lower gas prices, but that doesn’t seem to be true anymore.
