Poor, poor Lucy. No string of pearls. No mink stole. No attention at all from her dreamboat musician. Of COURSE that gives her the right to be crabby! To scream and yell! To make everyone else miserable!
Oh, come off it, Lucy. The holiday season isn’t even over yet. You still have New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day before it’s time to have your post-holiday letdown!
Sitting that close to the screen of an old CRT color set would be exposing Lucy to some pretty decent radiation, altering her DNA and frying her precious grey matter … ha ha!
Lucy grows up to be that crazy, crabby elderly woman that lives next door and calls the cops if you look at her funny. True story: I know a lady who collected those old funeral home fans all the small churches used to have in the pews. She would write mean messages on them and flash them at other drivers when she drove around town. She’s off the road these days, thank goodness. This is the kind of lady that Lucy grows up to be.

What did she get a chest of drawers for Christmas? That would make me crabby too just sitting there staring at it!

I do that when I don’t get anything on my wish list (that’s only happened last year though)

Being crabby is her MO and normal attitude not the same as the let down.

Can we just skip panel 4 until she quits screaming.

RIP, Lee Mendelson. Thank you for bringing the Peanuts gang to life in scores of animated TV specials, movies, and The Charlie Brown And Snoopy show.

Sorry, Lucy. Sensitive people have a post-Christmas warm glow in their hearts. Greedy people have a post-Christmas let-down.

Please Lucy, explain the difference.

“You’ve been very crabby since Christmas.” As opposed to the rest of the year, Linus?

Linus: Your sister is sitting quietly mesmerized by the TV. Let it be – and enjoy life. Happy New Year – to all!!

Lucy’s verbal karate in action again. Must be great to have a voice that can make your little brother (literally) flip….

Linus needs to bring Snoopy over and cheer her up with one of his Beagle kisses.

Too bad for you, Lucy, that you’re anything but sensitive.
