Only two people were cheering for him, he came in last, only his dad was happy for him and he felt nervous about not getting something? Gee, Bailey must be really unpopular and under confident. It wouldn’t surprise me if this is the first time he’s received an award, participation or not. He’s got a huge complex and he’s only like, 7 or 8.

I always gave out the participation awards in alphabetical order – only angst was with the hyphenated surnames (which one got put on the award)

My boys were in Little League, on two different teams, but the most fun they had was when the neighborhood kids would go on a big lot near our house (that they had to climb over a chain link fence to get to) and play without any parents screaming at them!…except for one day when I climbed over the fence too with my camera to take some pics of them all having fun! (and not screaming!) .. they all got to hit and run and never found themselves sitting on a bench watching !

I’ve got a gimpy knee, so I have to walk the annual PT test. 3 miles, and I always come in under time, but I tell them, just mark me “DLBF”: Dead Last, But Finished!
