Ah, poor Mondo. The bitterswert angst of youth, now Abby is going to think Jack has a crush on her. It would be interesting if Hinds put out a couple of strips over on Tank M to let us know how the kids are doing in 2023 as they woild be in their late 20s

and does Mondo end up with Abby? Do Edith and Coach Cutie become step mom and step daughter ang become friends? Does Chester finally have a winning season? Inquiring minds want to know?

One thing I really love about the strip is how Jack and Abby never become an item and just remain friends throughout the whole series, proving that not every animated series needs to have a romance between the lead characters. This arc in particular makes a jab at this when Mondo accidentally starts a rumor that Jack is sweet on Abby after he once again chickens out and fails to tell Abby how he feels about her.

Quick thinking, Mondo, but women are a lot more shrewdly observant than men. (They have to be.)
