Wolves howl because they don’t have someone close to give them a good belly rub.

I have you, Red.

And Rover knows that someday Red will take him to the moon. The poor wolves and coyotes are earth bound and cry in frustration.

Rover is the strong, silent type!

Neither can theirs! They’re just not smart enough to know it! Good boy, Rover.

He makes a good point, Red.

Some dogs do howl but not necessarily at the moon….

I had a beagle mix once. He would sing with me when I played the harmonica. I miss that dog.

Pecos Bill lived with coyotes, not dogs.

Is this moon growing or vanishing!

Dogs who howl at the moon are the ones who are left outside all night while the people are sleeping inside.

Rover’s howl will travel as far the coyote’s. He’s just saving it for when he really needs it.

Wolves don’t howl at the moon. They are calling each other and marking territory.

Cause they were out drinking all night.

Like Marilynnbyerly said, and everyone Rover wants to talk to is usually in the room with him, Red.

Rover prefers to talk to you, Red. Not the man in the moon.
