You have to be old to need “low-dose”. They make it more expensive because people are gullible. Baby aspirin is much cheaper or break up a regular aspirin. (I love the taste of baby aspirin, brings back my childhood)

They don’t call it “Baby Aspirin” anymore because of Reye Syndrome and calling it “Geriatric Aspirin” didn’t market well.

The term Baby aspirin seems appropriate when entering the 2nd childhood stage of life…!

I take two extra-strength aspirin every night. The whole bleeding stomach thing is way overblown. The additional risk is close to zero unless you have H. Pylori in your stomach.

Curiously there are now a dozen reports and 10’s of thousands of people tested who have proven that taking low dose aspirin after 65 is a waste of money and does more damage than it does good. Even the Americans are paying attention to these medical reports from Europe and are rethinking low dose aspirin after 65.

Seems like I heard that a recent study said taking a low-dose aspirin might do more harm than good. We like living on the edge and are still taking one.

I use the 325mg aspirin from Walgreens and use a pill cutter to quarter it. 1000 aspirins are $8 and they have sales on top of that. ‘Lo-dose’ and such are a ripoff.

Way Back When, I got into the habit of eating the orange-flavored baby aspirin.

The pediatrician sat me down and gave me as many as I wanted – and had his nurse standing by with a basin. After I finished throwing up, I never took another one again, unless my Mom handed it to me, along with a glass of water.

I was put on low-dose after they discovered I had had a stroke. That was 2004. In 2013 I was told that low-dose is preventative for people showing signs. Those who actually had an occurrence were to take full dose. In 2015 I had a blood clot in my arm. they said it was a large clot. My brain thought it was an inch or so. NOPE! It went from my elbow, up my arm and into my chest. They put me on lovenox in the hospital. After I proved I could give myself the shots I was discharged. Upper extremity DVTs aren’t as dangerous as the more common lower ones. I was the put on warfarin (btw that is rat killer!) for 6 weeks. The oncologist then switched me to xeralto. After numerous tests they called it an ideopathic event. That’s Greek for we have no clue why it happened. With the aspirin regiment I should have never been able to form a clot.

A good dose of dark chocolate (ie, 70% or more) is supposed to do just as much good as that baby aspirin. I don’t remember what the amount was because I beat it every day anyway.
