You’re not thinking the right way,Sally. Tackle Linus and at the same time put a major hug on him.

Teach her flag football, Linus, it limits physical contact.

Linus will now begin singing, “Backfield in motion. I’m gonna have to penalize you. Backfield in motion. You know that’s against the rules.”

Tackle-hug! (There is a little girl at church who always greets my older daughter with a tackle-hug.)

Unrequited love is a stupid game indeed.

Sally and Linus, Lucy and Schroder, Charlie Brown and the Little Red-Haired Girl… unrequited love seems to be a theme in the Peanuts world.

My wife is a nurse who works with the refugee community. She is very popular with the children. All the kids know her car, and come running when they see it. She gets tackled a lot. All the kids want to help her carry her stuff into the office.

She had to get them to stop calling her “doctor.” She finally compromised and let them call her “teacher.” The Asians have no term for “Sweet Little Old Lady” so the phrase they use translates as “Fuzzy Kitten.”

When I go to a football game, I enjoy hugging the cheerleaders. Unfortunately I rarely make it past the first quarter.

The subtle erotic nature of football. (Surprise, surprise….)

American football players are like modern gladiators. They pay a life-long price, not just busted knees and out-of-whack shoulders, but head injuries that wear holes in their brains and shorten their lives. Sally, hug them all you want, they deserve every kindness they can get.

A game of fun does not need to be filled with technicalities.

Technicalities do not matter for a great player. The sports commentators are usual foind to know the techniques but rarely the skills.
