I believe Louie is a retriever and they HAVE to have something in their mouths! Our LabxBorder collie Torren had the mouth of a mom dog, he was so tender in what he carried.
I was out doing yardwork and one of my cats came over with a squeaky mouse that I thought she’d brought from inside, turns out she nicked it from somewhere else.
We had friends whose dog collected bath mats. They were too chicken to find out if he stole them off clotheslines or went into the neighbors’ bathrooms to retrieve them…
