We need a series of these, to include the Long-Wattled Umbrellabird, the Magnificent Frigatebird, the Shoebill, and the Great Potoo.

One of these names is accurate, but it isn’t a bird. Buffalohead is a fish.

The birds are funny though. Thanks for giving me a Monday morning laugh, Rosemary. Have a blessed day.

“Scope”?? Oh—scaup, perhaps? And in general, are these solecisms based on observation or snide imagination? Either way, the drawings are delightful.

I have pileated woodpeckers and mourning doves that come to my feeders. Love this comic.

    Ok, for clarity:

    1: Ruffed Grouse

    2: Pileated Woodpecker

    3: Mourning Dove

    4: Greater and Lesser Scaups

    5: Bufflehead Duck
