Staff at my call center wouldn’t work those shifts till they found out what I pulled at double time and a half (Canadian law) My base pay was higher but it was enough to get their greed to kick in.
Before I retired, I always worked over time if it was offered to me.
To paraphrase Meat Loaf: I’ll Do Anything for Money, but I Won’t Do That
I did not take overtime if it meant missing one of my Kids hockey games or swim meets.
