Saw it last night. It’s a fine Star Wars movie. It’s not going to be “Citizen Kane”. Honestly the best time to see a Star Wars movie is as a child, as portrayed in today’s comic. I saw Star Wars in 1977 at age 12 and it was the perfect age. As adults, we tend to overthink and romanticize our childhood experiences like this.
Oddly, I felt this way about Moana. I saw it twice in theaters, once with each daughter’s friends. The first time I saw it, I wasn’t very impressed and thought the music was forgettable. The second time through, I liked it much better and found a couple of songs to be catchy. Now it is one of my favorite Disney animated films.
For those of you not going to see the movie but want to participate in water cooler yapping…
SPOILERS!!!
The Emperor gains control of all of the Infinity Stones and snaps his fingers before Shazam! can cut his head off, then “Star Wars: Episode VIII – The Last Jedi” disappears.

Uh, oh.
When I came out of “A New Hope” in 1977, I was ecstatic.
When I came out of “Empire Strikes Back” was stunned and amazed.
Since then, I have shrugged and said, “maybe it’ll be better next time.”
Kathy’s expression does not make me confident they have broken the spiral.

I took my 7 year old son to see the first one in 1977. I took my 9 year old grand daughter to see the last one. Wonderful memories.
