More ’90’s nostaligia?

I’m reminded of the time Sheldon went as Spock to the Renaissance Faire.

I worked at the “original” Renaissance Faire in California for about 10 years…

Every year, we saw aliens, Vulcans, dragons, even a few anime cosplayers….furries, S&M dominatrices… some people took it as a thin excuse for any sort of costume.

 

Less obvious to some, but still not “correct”, were all the SCA people and others in medieval garb… or their idea of it… dressed like the 12th century, not the 16th.

or Halloween costumes with plastic armor… the ladies in pointy hats with veils, and cheap purple satin dresses like a Disney cartoon.

 

No one was banned, as a customer, unless they were too naked… sharp weapons or real guns had to be left outside.

That fellow in the strip would have had no problem.

But to work there, you had to pass strict costume approval.

The Florida Rennaisance Festival, coming up in Feb and March has one weekend themed for Time Travellers.
