This doesn’t make sense. If Gracie was only that tall to Baldo, she’d only be 6 yo or so. She’s checking the homework of a high schooler? And he has a part-time job that only pays minimum wage, but he’s giving his hard-earned money to a six year old – who has other sources of greater income?
Hector and Carlos, you’re going way too far in painting the Baldo character as a doofus. Just my opinion. Also I think you are missing a lot of possible story lines with Baldo fixing that car.
This is a lesson for all aspiring writers – of any age. It is always better to pay a little for a proof-reader and/or an editor to go through your work, prior to submission, than to rely on yourself using Google SpellCheck and Grammarly.
