Reminds me of the times I’d take my dog with me to do a few loops of the cross country ski track behind our house. She’d do exactly one loop then run back to the FRONT door of the house and sit on the porch. Technically she didn’t leave the yard but it took me almost 15 minutes to ski back to the house. It scared me not being able to see her. It would have bothered me not to know Marm made it back home too. Good dogs. Pesky worried parents.

Did he take a few bucks from his wallet first for a hot dog?

I love the way she’s worried about Phil instead of Marm finding his way home. And what about Phil, anyway. He could have gotten mugged or something!

Apparently, he DOES leave Phil, napping on a park bench.

“Would’ve broken my heart to disturb his slumber.
And to risk that pesky squirrel to wake him. And then there was our neighbor’s cat. So, as you see, it isn’t my fault at all."
