Don’t they have the National Geographic (NatGeo) channel? Oh, I forgot — Dad says not having cable builds character.

Hmm. Does anyone remember having homework in the first grade? For that matter does anyone remember the first grade?

I know others have pointed it out, but I still love how that little teeny TV (even for mid-80s standards) is so “active” that it literally leaps into the air while showing a TV broadcast… :-P

There should have been a strip, where Hobbs told Calvin about something that happened at the house while he was away at school. When he mentions it to the parents they could have looked puzzled/scared and turned to stare at Hobbs

Too bad he hasn’t learned to multi task. Today’s school kids can watch tv, listen to music, check texts, update Facebook AND read the their school assignments all at the time.

My father established strict controls on TV time – with a loophole that “educational programming” didn’t count.

Most of what was on NPR was deemed “educational”.

I watched a LOT of nature documentaries as a kid.

Not true, Hobbes. I’ve seen you enjoy “Looney Tunes.” Or did you take that as a nature documentary?
