i love cashews, especially the cinnamon toasted ones i get every year at the county fair. when i was a kid there was a place downtown called the Nut House that had warm roasted cashews that i would get for my dad after going to the movie theater / before heading home on the bus.
A few years ago, a place I worked in recruited some of us to assist with an office task — not our usual function. While we were working, the supervisor offered us some pistachios she’d brought into the office, in appreciation of our efforts. I’m proud to say that I didn’t miss the opportunity to quip, “It could be worse. She could have us working for peanuts.”
