Because they stay green all winter, unlike deciduous trees that shed their pretty leaves in the fall in yellow, orange and red splendor. Once pines or firs are cut off from their food source (roots) it’s just a matter of time before their leaves (needles) fall off, too. That’s why I use an artificial tree. There’s one less tree cut down and it can keep devouring CO2 all day and night.
