That may be a slight exaggeration, but it sure felt like it sometimes.

All the kids are above average. I graduated from high school in 1963 with a B average. I just missed being in the top 10% of my graduating class. The system then was: F = failure. D = near failure. C = mastery. B = goes beyond mastery. A = borderline superhuman or better.
