My mother simply used to walk up to the TV and pull the plug.
I didn’t spend time on the TV but they did have to pry the books from my hands.
Ah yes, the boob tube……even today in many instances……….
I had unlimited TV access to TV after my family got one for the 1951 World Series. As an adult I rarely watch it by myself although lately I’ve been watching Classic Doctor Who. At least that’s educational. I’m up to 1978 and Romana.
