    Dagwood Bumstead would argue with that. He has been turned down for a raise as often if not more often. I think the “Blondie” comic strip probably started way before “Born Loser” did.

    Both Brutus and Dagwood should be looking for new jobs. Just because the boss turns you down for a raise doesn’t mean you don’t need the money, and by turning you down, the boss has proven that he doesn’t care if you leave or not.
