We at BCN, will continue to exam the, North American Plastic Halloween Spider, until local authorities capture and return it to it’s natural habitat where it will go into hibernation until October.

Ahhh, Pucky with his charts and an in-depth report; the News Room is getting back to normal. But what daring-do is lurking around the next corner? How will our intrepid reporters be challenged next? What cat-tastrophe is preparing to raise it cute, fury head?

You will have to tune in to find out. Same cat time, same cat channel.

I wonder if in real life Lupin and Goldie found common ground on a plastic Hallowe’en spider.

Could this spider be that thing that allows Goldie and Lupin to tolerate each other? Stranger things have happened!

Hey Burt – how about a screen crawl? A creepy crawl. lol

Oh, and maybe a PSA about how beneficial real spiders are. Can’t we all just get along? :)

“Get along, on down the road / We’ve got a long long way to go

Scared to live, scared to die / We ain’t perfect but we try

Get along while we can / Always give love the upper hand

Drink a beer, sing a song / Make a friend, can’t we all get along"

Kenny Chesney. Songwriters: Josh Osborne / Ross Copperman / Shane L McAnally

I am quite phobic of spiders. Years ago, I was in the bathroom, and I saw what I thought was a bit of hair over my right eye. I instinctively tried to brush it away with my fingers to no avail. Then I glanced at the mirror and realized that the “hair” was a very large, brown spider. Fortunately, no one was home, but I am sure the neighbors wondered what the rather loud scream was about.

One of the cutest things I’ve ever seen was a friend’s kitten who, having caught a small spider, proceeded to carry it around hanging out of her mouth for the next 10 minutes or so, like “Now that I’ve caught it, what should I do with it?”

Decades ago now, my family used to have a cat who absolutely LOVED to play with the plastic spider rings, so much so my mother would collect them where she could so to take them back home for the cat to play with.

We used to get jumping spiders about the size of a quarter. You could here them walk across the floor. If a cat batted them mid bounce, there was no telling where they’d land.

Do they still make the rubber spiders with the rolled-up rubber bladder on the bottom? they move when you squeeze a bulb that is attached to the bladder with a plastic tube…
