I guess Evans was in the mood for a little kid joke. Brad and Toni need to get around to creating a character who can fill that cute kid role for Evans. Obviously Shannon can’t do it.
When I was at primary school we had to write about our weekend. The story went that we were going to go somewhere in the car but there was a problem with it. The clutch needed some work. Apparently I got it mixed up with the crankshaft and wrote that we couldn’t go because my Dad was a crank. Wouldn’t you just know it? That piece of juvenilia was in the school magazine at the end of the school year. One of two items I had in the magazine. The other was about our trip to the London science museum to see John Glenn’s space capsule Friendship 7. The family only remembered the dad is a crank story.
NO they wouldn’t. However, they would know how to download apps and play ‘Candy Crush’ on the old cellphone their parents gave them after buying the latest Samsung or iPhone.
When I was 5 years old, I burst into tears one day for no seeming reason. My mother asked me what was wrong, and I said, “I can’t spell ’elephant”." She made up a song and taught me how.
The one thing people always try to get from a destroyed are pictures, at least back in the day when pictures were actually stored mostly on photographic paper, This also includes momento’s that the kids left. We are downsizing and my sentimental bone aches when I see stuff my kids wrote, or stuffed bears, or the apple that had a chime that was in my oldest (son) crib. Sniff!! I lost my pictures of my young years when I was still living with my grandmother, and have no picture of her, or my mother. So these kinds of things are so important really, and I will allow a little sentiment today with this Sunday foible comic.
Cute. And appropriate for Luann, who still looks like a little girl. She’s getting to the stage where if Greg tries to make her pretty, it won’t work, or at least it will look uncomfortable.
I showed I was a born teacher in first grade. I’d come home to my year younger sister and teach her what I learned that day. Yes, I’m a retired teacher.
The sort of story that’s mildly amusing with your own kids, but your friends are merely nodding politely and faking a chuckle. Your national audience is just groaning at the lame Crankshaft-worthy pun.

Startling change on Nancy’s face today.
Is she becoming a teenager, too?
(Bears some resemblance to weekdays’ Stephanie)

Luann as a 5 year child spelled essay as SASA. Example of very dry humor.

I think Luann meant HAHA.

I’m 60 and I still remember things that happen when I was a child. Today’s youth can’t remember what happen an hour a ago.

Hey Luann!
Take THAT, to Professor Zebo! He’ll SWEAR that it’s “Art” and you’ll get yet another “A!”

Wait a minute. Luann’s like 19. Brad is only 22 and he’s already married with a successful career?

Brad is only 3 years older than Luann? Then how did he finish school and become a firefighter like, 23 years before Luann graduated from high school?

Lots of letter combinations sound like words when you say them out loud. SA sounds like essay. XL – excel.
OBCT, MT, DK, IC are some others.

Why is Nancy rummaging through an old box of childhood memories? Is aging taking a toll on her role as a mother? Probably had high hopes for Luann.

I remember my mom finding one of my primary school pages. I had coloured a carrot purple instead of orange. Sure enough, it was laughed at.
Guess what was discovered years later…?

Reminds me of an old FoxTrot where Peter had to write a three-page book report on “The Great Gatsby” …
1: “The Great Gatsby”
2: “is about a guy”
3: “named Gatsby.”
(All in giant fonts to fill the pages.)
