Sedine is looking pretty smooth and radiant, I guess the Inter-Nut isn’t the only one using baby oil! I almost didn’t notice her lack of a nose had the Inter-Nut not highlighted it!
The first time I heard of ASMR, a while ago, it was in an article that mentioned one of the internet “stars” of the practice, who was a young girl. As it was obvious the other end of the microphone is like panel 5 here, I found it extremely creepy, and the girl’s parents absolutely despicable.
Is it pushing the line? Maybe. Is it gross? Yeah, sorry. But humans are gross. We’re awful and vile creatures sometimes. You HAVE to take the bad with the good, otherwise you’re just looking through the world with rose-tinted glasses.
While I wouldn’t go so far as to say the panel #5 guy is representative of the (mostly normal) gentlemen who frequent this strip, I challenge each to deny that they haven’t lusted a bit over the ladies BeaR has expertly drawn. The darker aspects of manga are well known and unavoidable in the artform. The comedy, story, and style give the strip its quality just as much as the “Fan Service,” which despite any protestations is factually EXACTLY what is being demonstrated in panel #5.
We all like to pretend we’re above our baser instincts, but ignore them to your own peril.
Still, I echo that I prefer the lighter-side of fan service.

both my teams lost in the playoffs so I was a bit sad until I read this comic, Bea knocked it out of the ballpark, but what really made me laugh were some of the comments,I play an adult at work but when I get home I want to relax and Be entertained Bea and the rest of you guys and girls do a great job thanks. P.S. Bea next time throw a few bars in there just to make them wonder what there missing! great job thanks!
I’ll add my two cents as we wait for today’s strip to drop. The gag works and is funny. My only suggestion would be that less is sometimes more. Deleting the baby oil and tissues would likely make the last panel even stronger. The fan’s face sells the bit. That Sedine’s bikini is “art” works in more than one way. As for ASMR, I heard about this a couple of years ago but it had slipped my mind. I recall the proponent saying that all kinds of things could lead to a “tingly” sensation that was impossible to quantify, whispering being one of the more popular methods. So…relaxing. Sedine must have a growing fan base unless Sam pulls the plug.
