I nominate a shared SJ2019 for: The NFL officiating side judge and down judge who missed the blatant pass interference call when the Los Angeles Rams’ Nickell Robey-Coleman “whacked his ass” on the New Orleans Saints’ Tommylee Lewis during the NFC championship game in January 2019. Blatant missed calls should not decide who gets to go to the Super Bowl.

I have a split vote between Bill O’Brien and the Houston Texans owners who not only still employ him but are giving him even more responsibility.

Wow, some pretty pathetic nominations. Nancy Pelosi? What part in SPORTS did she ever play in her life? (At least Trump cheats at golf…..read the hilarious book, “Commander in Cheat” by noted sportswriter Rick Reilly. Or you could read the sobering book of the Muller Report……..) Kaepernick wasn’t involved in sports in 2019. (And being in favor of cops being better trained—and better people!—should never qualify anybody as being a “jerk.” I would hope that ALL decent people are in favor of that!) No criminals are allowed in this category: that leaves out plenty. No organizations are allowed in this category—which leaves out the Astros, the refs (by the way, I was one of the few people in Kansas City who did NOT whine about ONE call in a game which did NOT decide that game: here’s looking at you, whining Saints fans), different sports as a whole (baseball, football, basketball, hockey, and that weird thing where people fall down a lot). My own nomination? Probably have to go with the obvious one: Antonio Brown.

I vote for Gary Bettman. Just for being Gary Bettman.

LeBron James earns my nomination for his cowardly stance when it came to the entire China human rights saga. The only thing that LeBron cares about is his brand. He’s a latter day Michael Jordan. Jordan stayed silent for too long when it came to Nike and their business practices (They’re still at it people) as well as his silence when kids were being killed for their shoes.

I guess that I could nominate co-jerks and have them be LeBron and Nike.
