“Sufferin’ succotash! Squab!” was the first line Sylvester said in his first cartoon appearance: Life With Feathers, 24 March 1945.

Remember: most of those cartoons weren’t produced for TV - they were theatrical shorts run between the previews and main feature movies. I’m old enough to remember that. Hanna-Barbera studios was one of the first to work exclusively for TV.

    Other notable cartoon debuts:

    Porky Pig - I Haven’t Got A Hat 1935 Daffy Duck - Porky’s Duck Hunt 1937 Bugs Bunny - Porky’s Hare Hunt 1938 Tweety - A Tale of Two Kitties 1942 Pepe Le Pew - Odor-able Kitty 1945 Forhorn Leghorn - Walky Talky Hawky* 1946 Hippety Hopper - Hop, Look & Listen 1948 Coyote & Road Runner Fast & Furry-ous 1949 Speedy Gonzales - Cat-Tails For Two 1953 Tasmanian Devil - Devil May Hare 1954
