Maraschinos? Blch. Do you know how they happened? Do you know what the downstream consequences are when they’re treated that way? And besides, I actually like the flavor of cherries… One of the things that Maraschinos have just too little of…
Reminds me of when I was about 9 and visiting my grandparents. In the middle of the night I suddenly realized that someday Grandpa and Grandma were going to die. And my parents, and me…the whole thing just hit me at once. Grandma heard my crying, got me calmed enough to be coherent, and gave me a bowl of cereal at the kitchen table.
Then we went out to sit on the front porch. A pair of glowing eyes came out of the dark. I screamed and started sobbing hysterically again.
And Grandma said “Missy, look! It’s Mumsy, your favorite kitty. He wants you to pet him. And that’s what it’s like when we die. When we’re in the dark it’s scary, but once we can see what’s really going on, it won’t be scary any more.”

Don’t forget the chocolate syrup (dark chocolate please) and whipped cream.

You can keep the cherries. I’ll take strawberries and dark chocolate syrup.
