Everything that happens was determined at the moment of the Big Bang. Nothing changes anything. Give up! How’s that for an optimistic message for the New Year?
The idea that knights in armor were unable to stand up if they fell is false. The armor weighed about 60 pounds, approx. the same weight today’s soldiers are expected to carry into combat. And the knights had it easier, as the weight is more distributed around the body, not mostly concentrated in a pack.
Just think about it. The men were wearing their armor into battle. If being pushed over was all it took to become helpless, a knight would quickly be killed by unarmored men with a dagger. Other knights would notice that armor = death.
Besides, I watched a historical recreationist in full armor not only stand up, but do that trick where they flip themselves back to their feet without using their hands.
My understanding was that knights generally fought from horseback and the stereotypical knight armor, like the outfit Millie is wearing, was designed for mounted combat.

Fatalists can excuse anything by claiming to be “just following the universe’s script.”

Aren’t fatalists simply pessimistic predestination believers?
