Ignore him, Liz. He is a teenager. It is not cool to be emotional and sentimental. The huge difference between you and Mike was that you were born in a hospital so Mike saw his mom with a baby belly and came back home with a baby in her arms and no baby belly. You, on the other hand, saw your sister born. You have that special bond with April, always. You feel you are more than a sister.
It was the other way around for me & my baby brother. I was 8. I didn’t want a baby sibling because it meant a) I wouldn’t be the youngest any more; and b) we needed to move to a bigger house & I didn’t want to move. I resented him for about a week…but we grew to be incredibly close & were unbreakable until the day he died.
Lynn’s Comments: I had my son in the early 70s. They took him away and washed him and I didn’t get to hold him for a long time. Five years later when I had my daughter, things had changed. I held her immediately. They didn’t take her to be weighed and checked out until we had been with her for over an hour. That was a wonderful experience. That was the way it should be done!
OFF THE SUBJECT : I just received an email from our prayer chain coordinator with the news that a friend of one our members was hospitalized with the COVID-19 virus and is now home and recuperating. I thought we all could use some good news for a change!

And deep down, you still do, Michael, even though you’ll never admit it at this stage of your life!

I give Michael credit for pouring a glass of milk instead of guzzling it right out of the carton.

You may think it wears off after a while, but it really doesn’t.

For those in the know, even though Mike teases Liz continually, he loves her very much and will always be there for her.

Don’t forget the second part of Elizabeth’s comment. Michael said he felt that way about her: BOTH parts of her comment!
