That sure puts a damper on all those strippers useing ‘Bambi’ as their stage name.

I have had the same thought - how could they give a stag - the king of the woodlands - a name like “Bambi!”

I mean just try saying it with that deep, slightly echoey, announcer’s voice: “Here comes the majestic Lord Bambi!”

I’ve never seen the movie – how can you tell Bambi’s a dude? I can’t imagine they actually show anything! Not that there’s much to see on a fawn anyway…

Destiny, because Bambi is the Little Prince in the forest, being groomed to take his father’s place.

You could tell Bambi was a male by the magnicent rack of horns on his head. I shall make no corny horny jokes.

And then there’s Lassie who was played by a male dog… He was harrassed at the dog park.

These comments are all funny about Bambi’s name. Long time ago I came upon a large family one girl rest boys. Girl’s name is Bambi.

I looked at three different OBH and had laughes at all different ones.

My fav Bambi movie is the super-short Bambi meets Godzilla (1969).

It’s all good. Look, he was Bambi as a child… and he’s a ‘dear’ little child…

But as an adult, he’ Bambino.

“Bambi” was his fawn-name. When he became a stag, he became “the Great Bam-meister.”

He has a distant cousin from the stone age: Bam-Bam.

Its not the first time that names have switched gender. Saint Dorothy was a man. Sasha and Misha are Russian nicknames for Alexander and Michael, respectively, very much men’s names.

Marian/Marion, Kim, Chris/Kris, Terry, Connie (Constance/Conrad), Pat (-rick & -ricia), Bernie (Bernard & Bernice), on and on.

rkozakand, another is “Nikita”, despite recent spy characters…
