while I’m not attending college myself, does beg me the question how do you do your education online when the Internet suddenly goes off

I’ve heard flimsier excuses from my students.

Some hackers are inserting porn into kids’ education feeds. A great excuse to cut off the computer for kids, to cut it back on for Rat.

My degree program required some token number of credit hours in Physical Education. I managed to squeak by with Golf, Bowling and Badminton. But I don’t think even those PE courses are conducive to online learning.

My grandkids were thrilled that the schools would be closed because of the virus … until they found out that all their classes would be online!

I was advocating online education 20, no! 30 years ago. With some notable exceptions, there’s very little reason to get a bunch of “students” in one large room listening to a teacher (even me) drone on about something.

My grandson has been told summer term will be online courses. Although he moved to New Mexico with us he is still paying nonresident fees, about $2000 a term for two classes. Says he won’t be doing online classes. I think he deserves a refund for this term, also now online because of Corvid-19.

I oughta try that with any college or university. Then if I get that answer “suddenly” remember that I’m not enrolled. See how many ask if I’m actually a student there first.
