I’m trying to see if there are any pictures printed on it. Guess you could always turn the face away.

At least someone was in a good mood this morning.

President Donald Trump sent out a jubilant tweet celebrating a good few days for the stock market while the reported coronavirus death toll in the United States overtook Spain’s to become the second highest in the world.

“This week, in only 4 days, we had the biggest Stock Market increase since 1974. We have a great chance for the really big bounce when the Invisible Enemy is gone!”

Meanwhile, the nation has now confirmed over 466,000 cases of COVID-19 and at least 16,686 people have died from the disease. The reported death toll overtook Spain’s, but remains behind that of Italy, where at least 18,000 people have died.

“[Advertisement] This Little Drone Is Flying Off Shelves!…”

That must be terribly disconcerting for shoppers.

Speaking of ads, there was one on here for toilet paper a moment ago. Buy the algorithm that did that something nice for a bonus! Maybe a little drone.

    Piggybacking on Kip W:

Expecting germaphobia to reign triumphant, at least until a vaccine can be found (and anti-vaxers can be held at bay), many of the things this world NEEDS to counter even more serious things, like human caused global warming and the plastics contamination of the ocean:

Cloth shopping bags now considered unsanitary

Buses and Taxis – anything that people might share

The list goes on an on.

But it seems the cure for this virus will only exacerbate the other crisis already on our doorsteps.

Many of us in Colorado, the last winter was 1997.

ABC News (7 Denver) posted a most frightening image this morning about the 1918 pandemic:

Early on, denial (of course). Then the closures.

October, deaths peaked, then started falling.

Closures were relaxed. Business as usual.

November, a second spike – and peak deaths that exceeded October’s.

Closures attempted again. Businesses refused to cooperate. Hospitals and morgues filled up.

Unable to affect a new quarantine, leadership defaulted to blaming immigrants – then, Italian and Austrian.

    Sound familiar?

I hope that “season” isn’t cayenne.

As many of us will be staying home tomorrow, remember it who you give service and not the service you attend that matters
