On the plus side, they’re not hitting the ball and letting the fielders (such as Lucy) mess up. On the negative side, Charlie Brown’s pitch count would be at least 140 at this point (4 balls pitched for 35 walks).

One thing can be said for Charlie’s team: they’re very loyal. I played on a softball team who had a very bad pitcher, but had he been as bad as Charlie, we’d have walked, too; to our cars and away. And that was a church league team where forgiveness is supposed to be a part of the game. Even our pitcher never walked 35 batters in a row and thus gave the other team some 31 runs (I think that’s right). I think Charlie owes his team an after game pizza.
