How insensitive! You should always warn in advance if you are showing a horror movie, so vulnerable souls can leave the room. /s

Agree with her premise. Looking at crowd scenes and intimate scenes in movies only a year or so old is now similar to looking at historical films. Did they really stand that close together in ‘those’ days?

I have noticed myself noticing that in shows recently.

It’s kinda like watching movies where people walk into an airport and meet their friends at the gate.

Well, I have my wife and my dog. There is no way we don’t have each other’s germs by now.

I always thought that 6 feet was a comfortable distance to converse with people: you can see their whole body.

Maybe this is one reason the virus hit Italy so hard. Mediterranean cultures have a shorter “social distance” than Anglo-Saxon cultures.

I’d be grateful if hugging and shaking hands were all the intimate contact scenes we see. Modern movies and tv series show so many sex scenes (which we refer to as “heaving bodies scenes”) that they’re just plain boring but probably a cheap way to fill screen time.

Note for political cartoonists: Russian propagandist and hacker mills are going after political cartoonists now by blocking sites and denial of service attacks.

Cloudflare has announced that it is working to prevent these problems. It might be a good thing for GoComics to look into.

We are not employed by Cloudflare and have no economic interest in them. This is just a news piece we ran into today that might help GoComics, its political cartoonists, and those of us who appreciate their work.

Since my mailed GoComics collection arrived without any picture content today, forcing me to use the website I found the notice an interesting coincidence, since those attacks could have exactly this result.

I’m currently watching a show from a few years back that takes place in NYC and it has a surreal feel to it now.

I’ve been trying to do the fist bump in place of shaking hands for years now. Surprisingly, one of the people I got the most flack about doing that was a foot doctor. I was there for a metatarsal stress fracture, but he also deals with fungus infections. Sorry, but rubbing a little dab of goo on your hands for three seconds and then clasping my hand ain’t happenin’, doc.

It’s OK folks, it’s OK. They’re just actors, not real people.
