Public health experts have also emphasized that the potential benefit of wearing a face covering is not for your own protection but to safeguard others around you. “This is to protect people around you if you are infected but do not have symptoms,” according to the CDC website.
That’s because a significant share of people with COVID-19—perhaps a quarter, by some estimates—show no symptoms. But they may still be contagious.
Saw something painted like this on a street you wouldn’t think would have high pedestrian traffic or people waiting in line. Maybe it was for a separate construction project.
Checkout lines at the grocery store have 6 foot markers. Isles have directional arrows. A lot of those marks are going to be with us a while. As comics use up their lead time, most will become reminders of reality. This is not a happy time. In a year or so, some of these things will go away, and a new normal will be established. Some things will stay with us for many years. I may never shake a hand again.
And when would that be? After 9/11? 2008/2009 recession? Viet Nam? Various Black Outs? Just think, years from now. We’ll consider this to be the good old days. Sorry to be such a Donny Downer.
