My father is 90 but people tell him he only looks 70. Is that a compliment? To be told you “only” look 70? The other day someone told me I “only” look 55 — but I AM 55. Was that a compliment?
I’ve always looked older than my age, even older than my older sister. It started when I was 15 and she was 19. She still looks younger because she keeps getting fatter and her wrinkles fill out. LOL.
My hubby and I don’t look our age either. When someone asks we tell them and they say “you don’t look that old”. Nice to hear but our bodies remind us.
One thing I have learned as I have gotten older. There are OLD people of my age and there are YOUNG people of my age. The “young” ones take care of themselves in diet and exercise and emotional health. They give the impression of being 10 years younger. The “old” ones appear elderly. Like they have given up. It really matters HOW you live your life so much more than what the calendar says your chronological AGE is.
has anyone else noticed aside the from the ‘gotta look young’ part that the majority of women’s hair styles are exactly the same? Long hair, flipped front over the shoulders, some in bad need of a brush? what happened to individuality?
tell that to the millions who have Botox injections, surgeries, and expensive facials. i wonder how they are handling all this during the shelter-in we are experiencing.

I think I’d rather look my age than act it.

In my job, I meet some of the oldest 50 year olds and some of the youngest 90 year olds you’d ever want to meet.
