The figure in panel 6 could be a representation of Archduke Horns (real name: Vvvvvvvvvvvvvvv), from the Mordawwa story, although the “karma” figure here appears to have a tail, which Horns did not have. (Though it’s obviously not meant to actually BE Horns in any event, just Linton kind of imagining a manifestation of karma, so it really doesn’t matter.)
Go Sonny ♡! But I don’t know if leaving the clothes in front of the door is a good idea. Granny might think it’s garbage and throw it all out. On the other hand, they certainly think Ellen would be embarrassed to receive these things out of pity.
And the best part of it all, Linton, is that Sonny wasn’t even deliberately looking to get that particular result—he was just trying to be a kind person. :D

Sonny gets all the love from the girls. Linton gets no love from the girls. Again.

No one considers the possibility that the old woman is Ellen’s grandmother rather than her mother. Of course, Mildred’s hypothesis is in fact correct.

I hope Ellen’s dad takes Sonny’s kindness into consideration when everything finally goes down.

Pretty good rendition of Karma, ya gotta admit…
