LNER 4472 is indeed the famous locomotive “Flying Scotsman”, though in 1960 in our world it was in British Railways livery with the number 60103.

Waving underwear, specifically red petticoats, to stop a train is a plot device in The Railway Children, most famously the 1970 film version.

Now I want to know where Shauna heard about that peculiar method of stopping a train, why she thinks it’s the only way to do it and why, if she really thinks it’s the only way, she tells Lottie to do it and doesn’t just do it by herself .

Just want to say that I wore my “I Wrecked These Eyes Reading” t-shirt by John Allison to CAKE (Chicago Alternative Komix Expo) and met another fan. Who, it turns out, lives a few blocks from me, LOL. We commiserated over the fact that the “Rock O’Clock” t-shirt is no longer available. https://topatoco.com/collections/scary-go-round/products/sgr-wrecked for the wrecked eyes t-shirt btw.
