I only flush the pen if I am putting it away. I change them out after about two months except for the older pre-1960 and then it’s one month. The secret to keeping them in good shape is to use them and keep them clean if not in use. Fountain pens are not like ball points and you have to take care of them.

Even the cat is absorbing Mimi’s infinite ennui.

I’m with Jack. Lottie is… complicated.

Lottie is a force of nature. And yes, she’s generally two steps ahead of the boys.

“They seem keen to disappoint you” is an utterly amazing line.

If you get an ear bulb or one of those things you use to suck mucus out of a baby’s nose you can flush a fountain pen pretty quickly.

Mensa doesn’t make you a genius.

No but being a genius can make you a Mensa.
