My wife once asked me to move something for her.

I made the mistake of replying, “Just think of it as a couch.”

haven’t I seen something like this in a “Garfield” strip where Garfield wakes up and says he’s late for his afternoon nap or some other kind of siesta?

The hospital is like that too. Wake you up to give you a sleeping pill…

My parents always did that to me as a kid, I always wondered why not just throw a blanket over me and call it good? I. Was. Already Sleeping!

If it weren’t for Opal Earl would look 15 years younger !

Mom would call over to dad “Honey, wake up, it’s time to go to bed.” So this is nothing new. Except that she wouldn’t startle him so he’d fall off the couch.

My girlfriend hates it when I sleep on the couch.

This was seriously funny. I cracked up when she dumped him off the couch.

Reminds me of the nurse that woke me up to give me a sleeping pill.

No joke, really happened.

If she’s not careful she’ll make Earl throw a hip out doing that. Then he becomes Mister Ed!

Earl’s got a pain now (in the backside) and he’ll have pain (ache) in the morning!

That’s abusive. She might as well have just turned the couch completely over, burying Earl beneath it.

Opal! I’m at a loss for words!

I’ve never understood how this works: every woman I’ve lived with has been a world champion sleeper. Me, six hours is sleeping in.

Thanks Opal! Now Earl won’t be able to fall back to sleep….

Don’t ever mess with a woman who can lift a couch……

Earl reminds me of me. Since I retired, I have raised nap taking to an art form.

For all those claiming the old “woke me to give me a sleeping pill” joke, I call Mandela Effect; I have spent, totaled up, over a month of nights in hospitals (not even counting the nights in a chair while She was a patient) – 22 of them in one stretch. I have (and She) have been awakened regularly for vitals & for other meds – but never once for a sleeping pill.

I’ve had many a good night’s sleep in my recliner.

Takes a good woman to tip a couch.. well done Opal.

And once again, we see the abusive Opal at work.

When we were first married and my husband fell asleep on the couch, I went to waken him, and my mom (visiting at the time) told me not to; “he works hard and needs his rest”. So I didn’t and I still don’t even though he’s retired.

Reminiscent of the time my boss and I played hooky and went for a high speed bike ride and I was drafting him and I blinked and he stopped and I woke up being strapped to a board and the hospital nurses woke me regularly all night to shine a light in my eyes. Ironically, my wife and I had scheduled buying a helmet the next day. More importantly, my bike was just fine.

Did Earl break his hip?

Hey Pearl! You should have left him on the couch so YOU could get a decent night sleep.

Yes – just throw a blanket over him and call it a night. He’s a big boy and can find his way to the bed when and if he wakes up.

Opal has two speeds, mean, and jerk. She’s in 2nd.
